Eye surgery isn't something that we think about on a daily basis, but South Tyneside based specialist ophthalmology company Altomed do. Constantly. They were planning a new look for their website which would involve using very high quality photography of precision eye surgery equipment. Obviously the images needed to be a bit more than just tack-sharp, so we arranged a test shoot for them in our studio in order to demonstrate our skills in product photography. Our studio is bristling with an array of kit that we use for such a job; specialist macro lenses, shift focus lenses, light tents and the finest studio flash ensuring absolute consistency in the photography. The test was a resounding success, so we set about organising the hundreds of different products that were to be shot, some of which have incredibly small cutting surfaces, jaws or other specific details that were key to each instrument. Our previous experience in jewellery photography really helped with this particular project, it's a job that requires concentration, patience, organisation, some seriously skilful lighting and quite a bit of blu-tak. Photography took place over a number of days with all editing very carefully carried out in-house and the end results are exactly how they should be: scalpel-sharp and eye catching.
Having our own photography studio near Newcastle is a major bonus for us and our clients and it's a beautiful place to work from. Set within the grounds of Lord Ridley's Blagdon Estate only a 15 minute drive from Newcastle city centre, we couldn't ask for better. Word has it that the best cakes in Northumberland happen to be only 30 seconds walk from our door. Is there a photography studio in the northeast that can handle the very trickiest of jobs? Why eye man.
